Construction Loans Included in $30 Billion Small Business Lending Fund
Thanks to an NAHB-supported amendment approved just before the legislation was passed by the House of Representatives on June 17, builders will have the same access as other small businesses to loans from a $30 billion program created by H.R. 5297, the Small Business Lending Fund Act of 2010. Census Bureau Reveals Fastest Growing Metros – St. George 52% Growth Gain in Past Decade
Newly released population figures from the U.S. Census Bureau reveal that the Dallas-Ft. Worth metro area has added more residents than any other metro in the past decade. Cities with the highest percentage growth included St. George, Utah, with a 52% gain, Provo, Utah, with a 47% gain, Raleigh, N.C., with a 41% gain and Greeley, Colo., with a 41% gain. Builders can no longer begin projects to receive National Green Building Certification using the NAHB Model Green Home Building Guidelines scoring tool at www.nahbgreen.org. The ANSI standards will take the place of the guidelines. Projects using the guidelines must already be underway and receive their first inspections by June 1 to be grandfathered in, according to the NAHB Research Center, which is the sole administrator of National Green Building Certification for single-family and multifamily homes, remodeling projects and residential developments. ...More PARADE OF HOMES
